Measuring up

Measure the door frame by checking the height and width at various places across the opening, and then check that the frame is square by measuring the diagonals.

Take into consideration any differences in width, height or shape when fitting your door.

Hold the door against the frame to see how it fits. If the door is larger than the frame, draw a line all around with a soft pencil.

For a good working fit, the door needs to be slightly smaller than the fame - not more than 3mm on either side and at the top, and 5mm at the bottom. Allow for this when marking cut lines on the door.
